Hi. They call me Coach. It’s a moniker that was given to me – I didn’t ask for it. In fact, I don’t have any letters after my name and won’t until I graduate from my Nutritional Practitioner course. So how can I allow myself to be called Coach and offer advice to people? Let me tell you a little story…

The Early Years

Growing up the youngest of fifteen kids, I watched different illnesses, especially cancer, ravage my family. Some survived, some didn’t and I was always curious about that. Why did some overcome a disease while others didn’t pull through? This was the beginning of my “research”. At the ripe old age of 18, I took a serious interest in health. At first I thought good health was just a matter of people getting “physically fit”. Man, did I have a lot to learn….and still do.

School of Hard Knocks

Twelve years ago I met Thai. (Guess where’s she’s from?) We were both teaching at the same university and it wasn’t long before, sparks flew. It was a courtship worthy of a Disney movie. Eleven years ago we were married. Then, within the first year of our marriage, she was diagnosed with Lupus. According to the doctors, there is no known cause and no known cure. This was the real beginning of my education. For the next two years I was by her side for every lab, clinic, plethora of specialists, and hospital appointment. At one point, I literally lived in a hospital for more than three months when Thai’s health was at its lowest. With a background in Pharmaceuticals, I saw firsthand the negative side effects of modern medicine. Neither of us was impressed. In fact, rather than improving, on five separate occasions we were told that she wouldn’t make it through the next three months…we quickly signed out of the hospital. I joined every Lupus support group I could find – spent every waking hour researching the causes of Lupus and alternative treatments from Acupuncture to Zen Meditation - and together, we tried them all. Every supplement, potion, cream, liquid, powder, whole food and raw food diet there was. Some worked; some were just a learning experience. This learning never stops.

Long story short – Thai is back in University and sometimes she runs with me in the park. As people noticed her health improving, they started coming to me for advice, not for just Lupus but a range of health imbalances from diabetes to migraines to psoriasis. Soon it was, “Go see Coach.” The name stuck but I prefer to be called Doug.

For the last ten years now, I’ve been blessed to have had the opportunity to help many people overcome their “dis-eases”. I coach, give advice and support them ... ultimately people have to understand that they have to make the decisions and take action. For me, it’s the most incredible feeling in the world when I see people re-establish a healthy body and lifestyle.

It’s all about Balance…Enter Auum

In the late 1990’s research in Canada turned to Omega-3 – DPA (docosapentanoeic acid) was identified.

In 2003, a Canadian company, researching Canadian grown hemp Omega-3 oils became involved with seal oil as a potential support to its advanced hemp-based skin care formulas.

This company now known as Auum Inc. began to produce and market mammalian Omega-3 capsules. Further research and development by Auum’s team of biochemists and researchers soon lead to the introduction of the sublingual method of delivery of the essential Omega-3s along with Vitamin D3.

About Cheryl Millett, Director of Auum Canada

Cheryl Millett BSc CCIr has a degree in Holistic Nutrition, a diploma in Iridology, and a certificate in Mind-Body Healing (Universal Technique) with a specialty interest in digestion. For over 19 years, Cheryl worked for one of Canada’s largest grocery retailers in finance and risk management with experience in agricultural commodities and therefore the food processing area, so she has seen first hand the sugar refinery process, flour milling, and oil refining. For over four years, Cheryl has practiced nutritional consulting with a belief in raw whole foods, Omega-3s, enzymes, nutritional cleansing and minerals for optimum health. Her goals are to give her clients and others the education and tools to create a better quality of life. Cheryl has successfully coached hundreds to improve their health.

In addition to being a Holistic Health Coach, Cheryl is a Business Trainer, Writer and Speaker, including presentations at a Healthcare College, the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) retreats/meetings and at corporate locations such as Loblaw Companies.

Cheryl is a Board member for the Canada StairClimbing Association. With her knowledge on nutrition, Cheryl enjoys supporting Advantage 4 Athletes and Fusion Studio. She has enjoyed the focus and accomplishments of running marathons, and is the organizer of the Forest Hill Walk Club with over 300 members, and since August 2010, the Casa Loma Stair Climbers with over 80 members. Cheryl's greatest joy is her family and she believes in balance for a healthier life. Her passion is inspiring others to reach their health goals, and living the life of healthier possibilities!

My Auum Story

In June 2008, I was introduced to Auum and I started taking the Sublingual-D the same day plus I gave it to my youngest daughter who was three and a half at the time. We would sing a tune while holding the Auum Omegas under the tongue for 45 seconds. We had fun! I must admit, I did not monitor for any outcomes but within three weeks I noticed that my daughter now knew the whole alphabet and most of the sounds.  Previously, she only knew her letters J and O (her nickname is JoJo). Personally, I felt taller and gained more mental clarity in only days. I was impressed. Our health is our choice!

As someone with a background in nutrition, I appreciate that the Auum Omega formulas provide DPA which is a key essential building block in the brain. DPA is passed to children through their mother’s breast milk. Many children are deficient because of not being breastfed or having less than optimal nutrition. A healthy child is a good choice!

My passion on helping others includes direct sales as it gives an equal opportunity to people that desire to learn business skills and wish to experience personal growth in a team environment. Auum already differs from other companies as it has created the Auum Wellness Practitioner. Inspirational leadership assists others to be leaders, to develop personally, to create team work and to build dreams. With trust and desire one can experience the healthy possibilities, like a seed grows into a tall oak tree.  The seed holds this potential. We are like the seed. Our wealth is our choice!

My Personal Message

Through my writing, presentations and coaching, my goal is to touch thousands of lives around the world in their journey to better their health by feeling their full health potential.

This adventure called life is worth living! My adventures include raising a family, scuba diving, parachuting, research reading to find truths, traveling the world to experience other cultures, spirituality, and nature, and spending special time with old and new friends, and family. I would not change anything as I feel everything happens for a reason.

What time is it? NOW Learning is very important to me and personal growth is now a part of my lifestyle. I look forward to many more adventures in the future, some the same and some new. The anticipation and journey is creating for me a life of fulfillment and happiness.

I have learned that great things take time and that patience is a virtue. Do I believe in the ‘Law of Attraction’? Yes, but the process can take time. The key to making anything happen sooner or to be successful is by gaining or acquiring the right tools and putting them in action. The right tools are the same thing as the building blocks of our body…the nutrition the body needs to be the best it can be. It just so happens that healthy essential fats such as Omega-3 is a vital tool needed for a healthy body.

I am accepting of where I am today, not striving for perfection but to be the best I can be. If I want to go some place then I need to set my intentions on it.

Let’s all accept this adventure called LIFE.

About Robert JF Millar, President and founder of Auum Inc.

Generally referred to as RJ, Auum's reclusive founder, spends the white winters of Canada with his teams of Canadian Eskimo dogs in the far North of Ontario.

RJ's first year studies in biochemistry and biology at McMaster University won him a summer studentship at a newly opened research centre. With his own set of keys and unlimited access to the labs throughout the new medical school facility, RJ invested 6 years of intense study before his contagious enthusiasm landed him the GM position of a major blue chip company excited about the possibility of a "biotech" revolution.

As an uncommonly young GM with a generous operating budget, RJ embraced novel "lunch room" ideas from every laboratory in every research centre he visited across Canada. By 30, RJ had earned his first bags of gold by creating amazing monoclonal antibody diagnostic kits and refined biological extractions that sold for incredible prices across China.

Catapulted by success in the rapidly developing Chinese economy, RJ transplanted newly emerging ideas from the west. Ideas such as encapsulated fruit and vegetable powders, countertop water and air filtration units, while somewhat popular at home, were enormously successful in the Far East. Beginning with a group of less than 20 independent distributors from Canada, RJ's team grew to over 20,000 in less than 2 1/2 years —all based out of Hong Kong.

While RJ's main residence is in Canada where he lives with his Chinese wife and Hong Kong born children, he makes trips to Asia with sights on trips to France, the Caribbean and other parts of the world.

"I am always astonished at how easily these wealthy cultures embrace fundamental concepts of natural medicine. Many of these concepts now originate in the West, yet for the most part, Canada and the US have become increasingly dependant and sick on synthetic drugs." says RJ.

RJ searched for years throughout his vast contact base for a natural biological to bring healing at the most basic level — the cell. The breakthrough came with a Canadian discovery of a previously unknown form of Omega-3 (DPA) found in rich quantities in the blubber of certain species of seal.

After numerous visits to the Far East, the results sprouted waves of copy cat businesses in Korea, China, and Taiwan. Canadian seal oil was a hot item, with the same basic product repackaged and resold in many different ways by handfuls of start-up companies. Yet at home, RJ's ideas based upon seal blubber were the targets of vicious propaganda. Lead by groups of US activists, pounded by the US media, this Canadian wonder remained hidden.

Undaunted by foreign-based propaganda, RJ's enthusiasm leads and coordinates an entrepreneurial team within a novel corporate framework.

With clinical studies that validate miraculous stories of health transformations and a product license issued by the Canadian Ministry of Health (fully compliant with the Natural Health Products Regulations) AUUM Inc has come of age. Auum has a series of Natural Omega-3 formulations in the pipeline. Some have already received a product license; others have marketing approval pending Health Canada's completed review of detailed submissions.

Today’s children are being diagnosed with Attention Deficit (Hyperactivity) Disorder at alarming rates.

Many of these children and their parents face a dilemma regarding their continuing education.

Extreme financial limitations restrict parents, often single moms, in their choices to provide for the special needs of these gifted children.

The Balanced Heart Mission reaches out to such children to provide them with Auum Omega 3 supplements at a subsidized rate or even at no cost (if their situation warrants).
